Folded and unfolded dimensions differ; cases and camera protrusions may change the space a device needs. Drawings share a relative scale and are not calibrated to life size on your screen.
Sizometry Analysis
Overall Score
7.5
out of 10
A gaming- and battery-oriented midrange phone with Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, 6500 mAh and 45W charging, a 144Hz high-resolution 6.78-inch display, and a useful 50MP OIS plus ultrawide setup — held back mainly by brand/software familiarity and midrange thermal limits under long games.
Category scores
Camera
7.0
50MP OIS main plus 8MP ultrawide covers the practical midrange lens set; low light remains competent rather than standout.
Battery and charging
8.5
6500 mAh endurance is a core strength, with 45W wired charging that is practical if not class-leading for speed.
Performance
7.5
Dimensity 7400 Ultimate handles daily work and mainstream gaming well; sustained max load still warms and can throttle.
Handling and portability
7.5
77.27 × 162.48 × 7.39 mm at 189 g is relatively slim and light for a large 6500 mAh midrange phone.
Build quality
7.0
Slim midrange build feels purposeful for gaming carry; materials stay practical rather than premium glass luxury.
Value
8.0
Strong chipset, battery, refresh rate, and camera flexibility for buyers who prioritize specs over brand halo.
Strengths
- Dimensity 7400 Ultimate with 144Hz high-resolution display for smooth midrange gaming and media
- 6500 mAh cell with practical 45W wired charging
- 50MP OIS main plus 8MP ultrawide and relatively light 189 g chassis
Weaknesses
- Software and brand ecosystem less familiar than Samsung or Google for some owners
- 45W charging trails ultra-fast battery-phone specialists
- Long gaming sessions still invite midrange warmth and throttling
Best for
- Battery-conscious midrange gamers and media users
- Budget-phone upgraders seeking a named Dimensity chipset and sharper 144Hz panel
- Buyers who want OIS and ultrawide without flagship pricing
- Shoppers prioritizing endurance and refresh rate over brand prestige
Less suitable for
- Buyers who need the fastest 80–90W charging recovery
- Owners who prioritize Samsung or Google software familiarity above all
- Flagship gamers chasing sustained peak frame rates
- Photography specialists seeking low-light leadership
Upgrade recommendation
Current device: Older POVA, Helio entry phones, or basic 5000 mAh Androids
Recommendation: Strongly recommendedNotes: Chipset, 6500 mAh capacity, 144Hz high-resolution display, and OIS plus ultrawide address the clearest generational gaps.
Current device: Recent Snapdragon 7s / higher Dimensity midrange owners
Recommendation: Depends on prioritiesNotes: Attractive mainly for battery value and refresh rate rather than a guaranteed performance leap.
Current device: Buyers needing ultra-fast charging or Samsung software
Recommendation: Probably unnecessaryNotes: Battery specialists with 80–90W charging or Samsung midrange options better match those priorities.
Current device: Photography-first midrange owners with ultrawide already
Recommendation: Probably unnecessaryNotes: Camera gains are incremental; switch only if battery and gaming smoothness are the real pain points.

Bottom line
The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G earns its place as a gaming- and battery-oriented midrange phone through Dimensity 7400 Ultimate performance, a 6500 mAh cell with 45W charging, a 6.78-inch 2644 × 1208 panel at 144Hz, and a practical 50MP OIS plus 8MP ultrawide camera set in a relatively slim 189 g body. It is not a brand-halo or software-polish play, and sustained gaming still behaves like midrange silicon. Buyers upgrading from older budget phones for endurance and smooth high-refresh media see the clearest benefits; shoppers who need ultra-fast charging or Samsung-class software familiarity should compare elsewhere first.
